Need to replace my pressure switch as the contacts are sticking. I can't seem to tell which replacement is correct as there are 4 Square D model numbers available and mine has only the first 4 digits of the model number. How do I figure out which to order?
Information:
Pump is a "Pumptrol" on 230V
Original pressure switch tag states: Square D
Class 9013
Type FSG2
Series Series B
30-50 psi

The most important factor is the pressure settings. Purchase a 30-50 switch since that is the settings on the switch you are replacing.
Disconnect the power before replacing the switch (duh) and here's a handy dandy tip: Find and purchase a product called Boeshield T9. You can most definitely find it at a Marine Supply store, but automotive places may carry it as well. It will increase the life of electrical contacts and just about anything metal that is exposed to the elements tremendously. It is well worth the fifteen bucks a spray can.

Some pressure switches also have a little lever on the side. This is usually a switch with a low pressure dropout. If your's has a lever on it, replace it with one like it. This will offer the pump some protection should a line rupture, or the well level drops too much.

So.....what you are saying is that all the 30-50 pressure switches are the same other than the low pressure protection thing. Is that what I'm hearing?
The boeshield 9 is a good tip cause this tank and switch are under a cottage and exposed to humidity cold and whatever all year long.
Back to my original ?.
As long as as I get a Square D 30-50 even the basic without low pressure protection I'm going to be OK?????
Thanks for your help.
