I have a house that I just bought with a garage that was converted from the existing car port. It was built back in the late sixties but was built on top of a concrete driveway/patio. The problem is that the wood is rotting/rotted and water comes under the walls since it is below grade. What I would like to do is build a foundation around the garage but removing sections of the wall(s) and then cementing concrete blocks in place to create a foundation where there isn't one now. I want to do this on top of the existing slab that is there and then recap the garage floor at a later date. I would appreciate any and all help that anyone can offer. I really need to do this job myself since my budget is low, but I need to correct the problem quickly.
