My garage was already converted to a living room when I purchased it, but the sloping floor and curb are still there.

I would like to raise the floor to curb height (6 inches)along with the sliding glass door that has been put in place of the garage door. Inside space above door is 25 inches...outside is 18 inches and I only need to raise it 6 inches. Will this be a problem and can you help me with details so I can do it myself?

Concrete over polyethelene with a 1" thick styrofoam under the poly at the unheated perimeter would be the right way to do this. You can use fiber mesh in the mix or put reinforsemnt wire in. If there are bad cracks in the existing floor it would be wise to put fom across the entire floor to prevent racks from telegraphing to the new. An expamsion joint needs to be installed around the perimeter.

We do these on a regular basis. In Texas we don't use the poly, do use expansion joint all around. Since the garage has already been "closed in", you will have to remove the sliding door and the frameing on that side. We use concrete with fiber mesh in it and pour it wet. it is much easier to get it level and then finish it. Not all that difficult, with a little help you can do it.
