Last fall I installed an outdoor sensor light on my garage. It has worked fine up until I had some lightning problem a week ago. The light was wired to my doorbell. The doorbell works fine but the light no longer works and bulb is fine. What do I do? Is the fixture bad? Is it the wiring? I'm not great at electricity, a friend put it in for me and now I don't know what I need to do to get it fixed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!!

Just a guess, but I'd say you need a new fixture.
By the way, how do you wire this to a doorbell?

Well, the person who installed it drilled thru the cement garage, fished the wire thru into the garage and up into the attic and the doorbell wire was right by the attic door so he wired it right into the doorbell wire, splicing it together. Worked fine until now...seems strange that this got zapped and not the doorbell...I kind of thought I may have to replace the fixture. Thanks...anyone else with other ideas?

Everytime we have a close lightning strike it seems I loose one of the outside motion sensors. You can purchase replacments at most homecenters. I get mine at Home Depot.
The doorbell wire thing seems strange to me. I don't have one so I have never looked at one, but I thought they were low voltage systems. This must be the 120 volt feed he has tapped into in your attic.

So is it just a sensor part (is it that little clear panel on the bottom front) that I need to replace or the entire fixture???
