shower: water-no water-water

i have a 80 foot dug well with a submersible pump, i know, it sounds deep but the people who built the house did everything that way.
anyway, when i take a shower the water pressure is a little low and gradually fads to off then about 15 seconds later its back at full strength.

is it the pump or the tank?????

It sounds like the pressure tank is running out of water before the pump can come on. If you have a bladder type tank, shut the power to the pump off, open a nearby faucet and completely drain the tank. Check the precharge with a tire gauge. It should be 2 psi less than the pump cutin pressure. IOW, if the pump comes on at 30 psi, the tank should have 28 psi of precharge. This will allow the pump to cutin before the tank runs out of water.
