Instructions on holder are clear enough. Attach brown to terminal L etc but there are no letter markings on the holder.
There is a terminal on the outside which I think is for the live wire.
There is a star sign * above one of the pins which the bulb will touch. Do I connect the blue or the brown to the one with the star. Does the start actually mean anything?
This is a UK lamp holder.
Help appreciated
Thanks

Not real familiar with UK wiring. I do know that brown is live and blue is neutral.
The brown should go to the terminal that is the button in th bottom of the socket. The neutral should go to the terminal that is screw part of the base.
