Background: 2-story house, all bedrooms upstairs, 1 return air vent at the top of the stairs.

My problem: When my wife and I are getting ready for work, it gets uncomfortably warm in the bathroom after we've both taken showers (humidity) and the lights (makeup.. her's not mine ;) ) have been on. We turn down the a/c but it freezes out the rest of the house and we're still suffering.

I've checked the temp coming out of the bathroom vent versus the bedroom and it is fine, however, it's not blowing out nearly as strong as the bedroom vents. I need to check the duct in the attic to make sure there are not any leaks or the flex duct has been crushed. Assuming all of the ductwork is in good shape, what options do I have to cool off the bathroom?

Can I put in a small air return in the bathroom to pull the hot/humid air out? It would only be about a 5-10 foot run to the main air return.

Any other suggestions?

You never put a return in a bathroom or kitchen. Imagine the potential bathroom aroma circulating through your home.

You should install a bathroom exaust fan and duct it to the outdoors through the attic space.
