View Full Version : GE Profile washing machine leaking transmission fluid
My GE Profile washer is leaking transmission fluid (I think). That's what a repair shop said when I called and asked. Apparently a gasket is leaking. How can I repair this? Is there a way to put transmission fluid back after it has leaked out? This machine is only 6 years old and of course I have no extended warranty on it. How long should washers last?
Thanks for any and all help!

Maybe better off buying a new washer.

I agree with pcdoctor. A problem GE has had with their newer style tranny.
I replaced a few. My cost for the tranny is around 125.00. Figure in a markup on the part & labor & you are well over 200.00. It is a time consuming job compared to the older style transmissions. Dave
