We just installed a new toilet and things look pretty good except that as it flushes out and starts filling back up with water, the water still wants to go on down the drain part so that when the water fills up the tank and quits running the water in the tank, there is very little water left in the bowl. Then it sets ther with very little in the bowl part until you flush again (may 2 inches is all in the bowl). Any good advice is very, very welcome!!! :wall:

Check to ensure the fill tube is in the proper place.

There is a tube that goes from the float/fill valve to the tube in the middle of the tank. This allows water to fill the bowl once the toilet has been flushed and after the flapper has closed. If it isn't in the tube in the center of the tank, it will not fill the bowl and will only aid in the tank filling with water.

mkanderson, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
Interesting problem. The trap which is built into the bowl of the toilet controls the amount of water in the bowl. It is "U" shaped and when the proper amount of water to make a seal (to prevent sewer gas from entering) is obtained the rest of the water goes down the drain. To check if this is the correct answer, slowly pour a bucket of water into the bowl. Where the water stops after the bucket is empty will tell you if you really have a problem with the toilet. Reply back and let us know. Good luck.
