Hi there,
We have a fairly recently poured concrete floor (6-7 months ago) in a new house. I would like to paint a small portion of the basement floor (about 150 sq ft). I know that you are normally supposed to etch a concrete floor before painting, but my question is this: How do you etch a small part of a concrete basement floor without getting the etching solution all over the place? If it was the garage, I could just wash it out the door, but since this is a basement, I don't know what to do. Or, do I need to etch the floor at all? It will receive more than minimal, but certainly nowhere near heavy foot traffic. Is there a type of paint that might hold up decently for a year or two before we end up finishing this space that would NOT require etching?

Thanks in advance for your advice!!!!
