we just got done with our laminate flooring of the dining and kitchen area. I think we did a very good job...however (there is always that, right?) we have ended up with some gaps where the shoter sides of the planks meet with wall. In other words, little too large gaps for expansion...
My question: what is the purpose of the sealant? is it just as a moisture barrier or also as a gap filler? Is it advisable to calk (all purpose) the gaps and top it with the recommended perimeter sealant?
My other question is: toward one end of the room where the planks meet the viny in the utility room, a couple of planks seem to move up and down when we step on it...leveling problem. Will the transition wood piece take care of this and hold it down...or should I jam another piece of underlayment for these planks? or is there another option?
Thanks for your reponse
