have an FS80AV weekeater- it stalls when it warms up.- any ideas? Its a pain to start after it stalls- till it cools off and then its easy to start. replaced sparkplug, prefilter, airfilter. also any idea what the correct fuel/oil mix is for this older model? Im assuming 32/1- but am having some idea it may be more like 40/1.

When it stops, check for spark and let us know what you find. If there is none, or erratic spark, then the coil may be going bad. If there is spark, you may have a bad gas cap, not allowing air to vent in and displace the gas that is consumed by the trimmer. Try loosening the cap when it begins to die out.

The trimmer most likely calls for 40:1 but I suggest using a quality synthetic oil and mixing it per the oil manufacturers instructions (not Stihl's recommendation).
