Home built in 1970. The wallpaper was applied directly to the sheet rock.

The wallpaper has a fairly slick surface. I have used a paper tiger to perforate the paper. I have tried DIF liquid wallpaper remover but it still wants to pull the sheet rock paper off. I also tried the spray gel remover hoping it would hold the moisture better but the results were the same.

How can I get the darn stuff off with out damaging the sheet rock paper?

I am just doing a bathroom now but the house has a lot of similar wallpaper that will need to come off also.

Thanks for your help, Terry

The paper tiger was probably a bad idea as it now is allowing water to penetrate the drywall surface. Your best bet might be to prime over it, skim coat the bad areas, and paint it. It is usually only done as a last ditch effort.

Thank you for the reply. I would like to remove the old paper instead of trying to paint over it. Is there any way to get the pld paper off?
