We are getting ready to sand our oak floor. Previous owners had used staples and carpet tack in the floors. Thay are pretty much flush with the floor. Any suggestions on the best method to remove them without damaging the floor too much.

I always used my little pair of channel locks for removing staples and tacks.

Needle nose pliers work good too.
