My settings are on low for freezer and high for refrigerator due to the fact that my freezer freezes everything too hard and the refrigerator is not keeping things as cold.

Now I find there is water in the refrigerator (that in certain spots is freezing), yet the food is not super cold.
What could the problem (and solution) be?

Thank you all!! :)

Is the fan running in the freezer? Where is the water in the refrigerator. Might be a good idea to put both controls in the middle for a while, and take some temps.Might be nice to know what brand[model #] and age and the layout side by side freezer top or bottom, how long has it been going on-- you know

Putting your refrigerator thermostat on high and having a warm temp should have the compressor running all the time. This would mean that the evaporator in the freezer[and the fan]would be getting cold but that the majority of the air would be diverted to the ref.

It does this with a baffle or a gate if you will. For example if the freezer is set on high and the ref on low most of the cold air blowing over the evaporator[where the cold comes from] would be staying in the freezer. Opposite from how you have it.All the cold air is generated in the freezer and distributed from there depending on the settings,

I would be looking at the cold control and making sure it was opening and closing as it should.

If the temp in the fridge is too low than the comp should be on. If it is and the cold air can't escape the freezer I believe it will get real cold regardless of the setting for the freezer. At least it will be colder than it should be based on the setting of low.

If the water is freezing wher the air blows from the freezer to the ref. it could be condensation from warm air entering when you open the door to see what the hey is going on.

As I said I would set the controls to the middle for a while , but before I did I would make sure most of the air was blowing into the ref instead of the freeze. It should be this way with the seeting you have

I am not a ref mechanic but do know enough to get you in trouble. This is only my opinion as to what the prob could be.
