Can someone please recommend what approach I should take with the bathroom/fan?
I am currently remodeling a master bathroom and wanted to install the bathroom fan that was not there before. I am guessing I will need a dedicated circuit for that. The Panasonic fan I ordered has a light too, but it’s a weak light and I will add 2 more light fixtures besides the one from fan.
1. Where do I position the fan? Since I removed the wall separating vanity area from the shower, I have about 12’X5’ bathroom. I know that Panasonic are pretty quiet but still wanted to avoid extra noise if I place it closer to the bedroom door.
2. How do I wire the fan? Assuming it will have a separate circuit for the light and another for the fan (should probably have a slider regulator)
3. Can I add a separate heater ( I didn’t want to buy it in one unit because I have a hard time imagining how you can heat and vent the room at the same time without any heat loss) right above the shower (I guess I’ve seen it at some hotels) ? Or it needs to be some place other then above the shower Oh, and what are my options?

Thanks for all your help.

No dedicated circuit required for a bath fan. Put it on the same circuit as the bathroom lights, either with it's own switch or switched with the lights.

1. Where do I position the fan? Since I removed the wall separating vanity area from the shower, I have about 12’X5’ bathroom. I know that Panasonic are pretty quiet but still wanted to avoid extra noise if I place it closer to the bedroom door.

It's not critical. I like to put them where they will draw their air across the whole bathroom and pick up as much moisture as they can in the process.

2. How do I wire the fan? Assuming it will have a separate circuit for the light and another for the fan (should probably have a slider regulator)

Don't use a dimmer on a bath fan - you'll burn it out. If you want to use a dimmer on the bathroom lights, switch the fan separately.

3. Can I add a separate heater ( I didn’t want to buy it in one unit because I have a hard time imagining how you can heat and vent the room at the same time without any heat loss) right above the shower (I guess I’ve seen it at some hotels) ?

Yes you can add one, but if you do then you will most likely need a separate circuit back to the electric panel. Check the manufacturer's literature for specifics.

An exception to this would be if you were to use a "heat-lamp" sort of a heater, whiich is probably what you have seen in hotels. They can generally be run on the same circuit as the lights, depending on the wattage selected. Heat lamps are "radiant" which is to say they heat objects, rather than heating air. This is why you can have one combined with a fan and still get heat out of it.

Or it needs to be some place other then above the shower Oh, and what are my options?

It can be about any place you want it - again see the manufacturer's literature for specifics as far as clearance. Some manufacturers require a GFI protected circuit for their fans and heaters, and even if they don't it's not a bad idea.
