Annette, thank you for your help in my previous post. Now, the problem I'm having is this: I can't find any C-rings locally. I have tried every store that carries draperies/linens in my area. I have found them online, but like I said, I'm hesitant to buy them that way.

Since the only reason I need the C-rings is b/c of the center support bracket, I'm wondering if I can just not use that center support. It's a 96" panel for my sliding door, it's made of cotton duck cloth and my rod is metal, I think a 1" diameter. Will the end brackets give the rod enough support? It seems like a pretty sturdy rod to me...

What do you think? Is this a big no-no?

Thanks in advance! :)

why are you hesitant to buy them that way? what brand are they? maybe it's a brand that Lowe's or Penney's or somewhere could order for you.

i really think for a rod 8 feet wide, you'll need a center support. maybe not at first, but over time, it will sag.

i suppose you could try it your way first, and then when it starts sagging, change out the O rings for C rings & install the center support.
