is there a way to get pvc pipes apart without cutting?????i need to replace my toilet flange and i was thinkg of cutting the drain at the elbow but dont know with part of it still in there if they make a piece that will go inside it to rejoin

I've always said the person who invents a chemical to dissolve PVC glue will be set for life.

Unfortunately, no, there is no way to get PVC pipe apart once the glue dries. You're going to have to cut the pipe. It sounds like you're cutting close to a fitting - just be sure to leave enough pipe to glue a coupling onto. Do NOT cut it flush with the joint. If there isn't room to do that between the elbow and the flange, you'll have to replace the elbow too.

Have you thought about using a flange repair kit????? Depending on why you are replacing your flange, these things may save you a lot of work, sweat and cursing.
