I have a 50 year old 3/4" x 2 1/4" oak floor. The surface of the wood is in good shape but the strips are loose to the point that you can actually feel some movement when walking on them. It seems to be just worn out. Is it possible to remove and re-lay the flooring or would it just break up in the removal process? Any other suggestins?

I'd have to see it to tell you for sure.
Most of the time, as a less costly repair, the boards are face nailed.

Drill holes and face nail. Use a nail punch to set the nails. Then fill holes.
