Our side-by-side fridge stopped working yesterday (Kenmore model 106.9550510) No cooling whatsoever. The fan blowing over the condensor coils is working, and the coils are clean. No icing in the freezer compartment. When I turn it on (temperature switch inside), I can hear a "click" from near the compressor. I think it's the relay on the side, but I can't tell for sure. Anyway, the compressor never begins at all - no humm, start/stop, nothing. When I turn the temperature switch to off, I eventually hear another "click".
From prior posts here I'm thinking it could be the starting capacitor, or the relay, (or, heaven forbid the compressor!!) but I'm not sure which. Any advice on how I can check to see which might be bad? If the cap wasn't so darn expensive I'd just pick one up and try it.
Thanks in advance.
