Kenmore direct drive washer coupling sheared off. Found instructions to remove and replace but I cannot move the agitator by hand with the motor assembly pulled out.

Does this indicate a gear box problem and is it worthwhile repairing?
Model 26812690 about 5 years old.

10 yr warranty on gearcase // you pay labor... spin ouplr gear left for awhile the right 1 direction it will stop because of brake....

I also have a Kenmore washer and may have to replace the coupling. In your post you said that you had found the instructons for doing this. Where did you find those instructions? Can you send me an e-mailed version?
