Yikes!! --LIQUID LAUNDRY DTERGENT spilled onto my sister's HARDWOOD FLOOR! -- looks like a spot of bleach!!!

Trying to find out any way of extracting -- or purging -- before adding anything else... or WHATEVER best method of restoring (if possible (? (!!) ) )...

oh-no!!! ---((my fault...))

Must have been a waterbased finish. It lifted the finish.

Wipe up the residue until it is completely gone. Then spot finish or totally refinish the floor.

Thanks for the advice. I wiped up all the excess immediately.

Does this mean no need to worry if any DETERGENT SOAKED INTO THE WOODGRAINS?...

Thanks again!!

If the wood has a finish on it, it should not have reached the wood, unless it sat there for a long time and raised the grain.

It sat for over a week, but there's no swelling or raised areas.

Again, many thanks.

I have relatives in Austin; will advise them of your helpfulness!
