My wife and I just purchased a 1950's era home. The fireplace in the bedroom, seems to have been closed up with cement. Is there anyway to drill this out, or by some other means, open the fireplace up again and make it usable? We are going to turn the bedroom into a master bath, and would love to have a firplace right by our whirpool tub.

Reply request, to eletteron@mohawk.net. My heatolators were sealed with heat-resistant cement when fireplace was repaired. How do I unseal them? Do I use chisel, drill, or special tool? I only want to open them up again keeping insulation intact. Thanks for any info.
