Hi, We just moved into our house 9 months ago and our house is 5 yrs. new so we know that the dishwasher is the oldest 5 yrs old!! It happened about 1 week ago when I went to run a load of dishes it just made a humming noise, then the next day, we tried again and there was water in the bottom of it!! I would like to try and fix it before I have to rely on calling in a tech or getting a new one!! The least i would like to do is get the water drained out of it till we can figure out what next to do!! Any HELP would be GREATLY appreciated!!
Thanks,

Sounds like something stuck in the pump. Is the water in the DW clean or dirty? Was there water in it the first time it didn't work?

Hi, Thank you so much for inquiring!! The water is clean (or shall I say was, I have tried to empty as much as possible with a cup but can't get it all!!) I didn't notice the water in the dishwasher till the 2nd time around, but the humming noise with NO water running happened right away!!

Open the bottom plate. With the d/w off rock the fan blade on the motor back and forth.Siezed motors because of the d/w not being used enough is a common problem

was just going to suggest.
Remove power and access panels and reach in with your hand and turn the cooling fan blade a turn to break it free, turn on the power and try the DW. If this sticking keeps happening, the motor and pump assembly will probably need to be replaced, Which may require removing the DW from under the counter. :(
