We recently bought a new house that has a laundry chute. The door that is currently on it is old and falling off so we want to replace it. We went to Lowe's and Home Depot and were stunned to find that they don't carry them. Now I have no idea where to get one. Does anyone have any ideas? We just want a simple white door, possibly wood, with a hinge.

At least in this neck of the woods, most of those chutes are made to order
There is no place I know of that sells a pre-made chute door
The good news is it's not to difficult or expensive to make one
A local handyman, or a handy neighbor, should be able to make one for you rather quickly
Especially if you remove the old one and drop it off at their shop

You can also use a cabinet door. Check with a local kitchen cabinet dealer.

Did you figure something out for your door? We just added a chute in our house. Just wondering.
Thanks

I have been looking for a laundry chute door as well. I found two online today but they are outrageously priced. The first one was on trashchuteparts.com and it was $335.00. The other was extremely similar and was around $800.00. Needless to say, we are going to fabricate something. The only other thing I thought of was to look into medical supply stores...you know the little window that you put your urine sample through? One of those might work

Another option: access panel >plastic
Door & Frame - ready made.
Flush & Recessed options. Material options: Steel (baked enamel finish), Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Plastic. Easy to find. Inexpensive to expensive (size, material).
Specimen pass-thur boxes are expensive.

This is a link to a laundry chute door that I have used in the past. It is cheap, but it works. It cost less than $30.00 and your local hardware store can probably get it for you.
