I don't use non stick pans so my stainless steel(presuming that's what they mostly are) all clad pans are well used for everything - however, they are black all around the edges and sometimes this comes off into the food when I'm cooking. I've tried brillo but it doesn't do the job. any suggestions appreciated - thanks

I have used oven cleaner on my stainless pots and pans. The hot method works better than the cold method. I just spray and stick them in the oven. Have been going to try the method I use for cast iron but haven't yet. I stick my cast iron pans in a plastic garbage bag and sit a small bowl of ammonia in the bag with them. Seal tightly and let sit overnight and then wash. Then you have to reseason them. Good luck.
