I have a Frigidaire model #FRS24W??(The label's ripped off after the 'W'). It's a side-by-side, and the freezer makes a drumming noise! "Bongos" almost describes it. When I hear the noise, I've opened the freezer door and looked to see where it's coming from. At the bottom of the freezer on its back interior wall, there's a grated opening where I can see what appear to be coils going back and forth. When it's making the drumming noise what seems to be happening is that the coils are red (hot) and there is water dripping on them from somewhere and that's making the drumming sound.
It doesn't make the noise all the time, but I'd say about 75% of the time. The fridge came with the house (we bought last September) and we're told the fridge is about 6 (now 7) years old. Should I be worried about this???
Thanks for any and all suggestions/advice/help.

I'm almost through laughing now. :)
The red hot items are electric heating elements. They run about 20 min, twice a day or so. They melt the frost (that you can't see) on the evaporator coils. The melted water must be dripping on them. They are usually protected from water damage.

80% of the time the rubber grommets/motor mounts that hold the condenser fan motor dry out and the fan starts hitting the shroud when the fan starts or if you jar the frig.
Eventually the fan blade will hit the shroud and make a continuous hitting noise.
If the fan stops the frig will over heat and stop cooling.
Pull the frig away from the wall and locate the noise.
Most of the time the fan is located behind the frig at the bottom.

Defrost Time.
I don't think the fans are on at that time.
