Hello,
My zone 1 ac is working fine, the problem is zone 2- the upstairs. We changed the Tstat last year, and now the ac wont run upstairs. It is a round non programmable Honeywell, Red wire to the Rh, white to W, and Yellow to Y. The problem is the damper(electric) keeps closing. I'm wondering if the Tstat is wired wrong or if the damper motor is bad or none of the above. Heeelp!!

did yo make notes of where the wire went on the old one??
is this wire going to the damper itself, or a control box where all the wire meets, then off to the zone damper?

Thanks for the reply,
Of course I did not make notes of where the wires on the old one went, that would have been too easy., Actually it was changed last year.
I believe the wires go to a control box then off to the damper box.
Thanks

Look inside the control box and the damper box. Most of the time the guys will draw out on the wire schematic how they did it. Also pull just the cover off the othe stat and check out how it is wired .

unfortunately no drawing inside box.
do you think we could have the wrong thermostat? It is the right model #, except the old one didn't have an ac/heat selection. just controlled the heat. The ac was set by the primary Tstat. We did try to hook up the red to the G screw-- but then the fan just ran continuously, but the damper did stay open. any other suggestions welcome.
Thanks
