Firstly thanks for the tip on getting candle wax off carpet - worked a treat but I nearly burned the carpet. Word of advice put the iron on a low heat.

Finally does anyone know how to bring the life back into leather sofas ? And get blue pen ink off them - pesky kids !!.

Thanks a lot

Oh and i found a great site for cheap cleaning supplies -

As tweleve pole usually state the CRI does not reccomend the heat tranfers method for removing wax. I usually reccomend that way as it is faster and once you get the hang of it easier since it does not require chemical agents to remove the wax. That is the great thing about a forum you get different views from different sources. The iron set on the lowest setting for 10 second intervels usually is the best way to go. Keeping the rag moist is also the key.

Another problem associated with using iron to remove candle wax is that heat can set the dye in colored candles.

Leather cleaning is best left to a professional. There are many types of leathers, dyes, and finishes. Anything strong enough to remove ink will likely harm the leather upholstery. Solvent cleaners are typically used for ink removal and are not recommended for leather upholstery. Solvents may remove leather dye and will make leather dry and brittle.

Try using a soft cloth and rubbing alcohol to remove the ink pen marks.

Test first in inconspicuous place if using rubbing alcohol to make sure it has no ill effects on leather dye or finish.
