Whats your thoughts on a shipwright who used marine tex to repair a rudder that pulled away from the hull about 5 yrs ago. Now the rudder has come apart again, and there is alot of rot in the rudder area. We thought since we used a shipwright to do the repairs the job would be a professional one. Now they say they won't warrent their work but would be glad to give us a estimate for the repairs today....Get real! I'm so mad about this I can't even see straight! Instead we are going to do the repairs this time using West System expoxy and fiberglass matting & reinforce the steel after digging out the Marine tex & 5200 What costs us 1K then was a waste. I can't beleive a professional did such a sloppy job. Wouldn't you think a repair done the first time should have been a permenant repair?????

O.K. you are upset and i can see your point.
What i can't see though is the boat.
I will agree however that marine tex and
5200 don't mix and shouldn't be used for a structural repair.
