I have an Amana dryer that I have noticed when I am drying things like jeans or heavy towels that when they are in the dryer for about 30 minutes or so if I open the dryer door the clothes have a musty smell. I know they are clean and not sitting in the washer too long cause I am putting them in the dryer soon after they are done washing. I wondered if the heating element or thermostat could be going bad and if it could possibly be cycling off and on and that would make the clothes smell musty. It takes a little longer to dry clothes than it used to but nothing major and when ever I check it there is heat in the dryer but I can't say its hot! Any suggestions?
