I want to install window screens in my vinyl windows. The windows have channels that will accept the screen frames. I am not sure where to take the measurements. The side and bottom channels are about 1/8" deep and the top channel is about 7/16" deep. Should I include the depth of the channels in my measurements? Do I need to make allowance for the curved tension springs? Thanks.

Wire screen is installed a little differently than vinyl screen, but as I recall, you buy a screen that is larger than the frame, mount the screen and trim off the excess with a knife.
ophs, it looks like your talking about replacing the frame, not the screen mesh, sorry.

Measure from the inside of the top channel to the top lip of the bottom channel and deduct 1/8" to 3/16".

Thanks for the replies. Where do I measure for the width? Do I take the narrowest measurement? Do I include the depth of any of the side channels?
Any opinions for mitered corners vs. square cut corners? Would either be more difficult to take apart? I have powered miter saw with 40-tooth carbide blade that has been used for wood trim. Will that blade work or should I use a different blade?
Thanks.

The width should overlap the side so there is no daylight (the side channels are not used). The square cut frames are eaiser to work with. You will also need lift tabs & halfmoon springs to complete the job. Good luck.
