I took out the MayTag motor and want to use it for something else. how can I wire so that I can plug it into the regular 110 volts out let. there are 5 wires. on the left there are Black and white, on the right are Red, Yellow and light Blue. can anyone be kindly tell me. thanks

A lot of different Maytag motors out there. You probably have several speeds, maybe a start winding, capacitor, or reverse.

Trace the wires in the old appliance, see what's what. Sometimes there's a schematic glued to a back panel. A service manual (try the library) for that appliance will help or answer your question better yet.

thanks for the head up Kobuchi. after trial and error, I got it running. although at high speed, it got some smoke. this motor is a capacity start I guest. that was why I think I had hard time make it start. anyway, thanks
