I have an American Standard model ATR025-048C condensing unit central air. About 12 years old. It is not blowing as well as it used to The air comes out of the vents cold but without the strong force it used to have. In March 05 the same thing happened with the heat and it was the igniter. Would the igniter in the furnace (American standard 90% model tuco80936) have anything to do with the air conditioning?? Is it possible that that went bad again?? I ask because same symptoms. Everything boots up vents get cold or hot but not a lot of force. If not what else can it be? I had service man out who added a little Freon, Hosed the unit and sold me a three year contract to clean but never fixed the problem. It has a Good clean filter in it. I set the thermostat on 65 last night to test it after repair man left and this morning temp in house was 77. It took all night running to go down 4 degrees.
He said its ok. It is not ok.
Thanks for any help.

I would call the company back and ask for another service guy since it's not working like it should.

The ignitor has nothing to do with A/C part of the system.. it just in the burner area where it lights the gas on the call of heat.
