Hello everyone
I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself.
Anyways, I just purchased a 3,000 sq ft house in the Las Vegas area and before I move in I'm going to be ripping out the carpet and putting all tiles downstairs. The seller agreed to pay $5,000 towards the flooring.
Currently, the kitchen has ceramic tiles. Would it look tacky if I were to put different type of flooring everywhere downstairs (Dining room, living room etc)
Or should i just rip out the ceramic tiles in the kitchen and make everything match?

It's a matter of personal taste. Most folks prefer continuity in color and floor surface coverings. My personal opinion is that I would go with the continuity factor.

Pull it up, it will look better. Beware of what you find under the carpet. Any cracks will need to be treated with an antifracture membrane and control joints will need to be honored with a soft joint. aYou will also need to make sure expansion joints are provided throughout the tiled field.
