I am trying to figure out what to do.
My main concern is that we are needing a new floor in our kitchen.
We have been looking at vinyl sheet flooring and tile.
Since you have to put down concrete board and then the tile, I am afraid we would not beable to get the dishwasher out when time came to replace it. We can't raise the cabinets,
I know that the vinyl sheet flooring will raise the floor some, but not as much as the tile.
We plan on living here for a very long time.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for any advice. :wall:

Most dishwashers have adjustable legs. Check to see if yours can be adjusted or legs removed to accommodate new floor height for easy removal.

well how much height you will lose with ceramic will be determined by what is on the floor right now, how thick is your subfloor and any additional layer above it. also, can you counter top be shimmed up and how much room do you have left for adjusting the legs on your dishwasher? Unscrew the two screws on the bottom cover below the dishwasher door and check it out. Post back with your findings.

don't just look at the front legs of the washer. there are wheels in back that either adjust or have different height slots - you'll probably need to adjust these as well.

the only way to know for sure is to figure out where the surface of the new floor will be and put something on the floor to simulate the new surface, then try to remove the washer. adjust the legs and wheels until it either works or you know it won't. I know that's a lot of work and may even get into temporarily disconnecting hoses, but if you guess and get it wrong it gets real ugly. :wall:
