I have a problem with the heat and AC both not working. Is my first option to replace the t-stat?
I checked the fuses and replaced the filter.

YOu check to see if the switch near the furnace has not been turn off?? some may have a fuse on it.
Also make sure the blower door is on.. newer system has a door switch to turn of the system when the door is taken off.
If you know you are getting power to the furnace, check the low voltage side.. R to C 24 volts.. if power is ok, then jumper the wire at the t-stat.. R to G, fan should come .. R , G, and Y fan and A/C should run.. If all pass, then replace the t-stat. if it don't then do the same at the furnace..
