I am purchasing an old home (1900) which has no AC/Heating or duct system.

What is the cheapest option for a AC and heating combination system. Since i have always lived with heat pump, that's the only system that I know of!!! In this case efficiency is not an issue since i'll be selling to house in 6 months so i am looking for the absolute cheapest and easiest option (i'll be doing the work). Note the house has gas so not sure if there is an all gas AC/heating system, or is there. I know the house does not have 220 V electricity if that's needed!

Also, what can u tell me about duct works. I guess i have to run those to. I need a total of 4 vents. 3 on the first floor and 2 on second floor.

Thanks all for the info.

With out a 220 line into the house the only way you are going to get A/C is with window shakers.

Must be a pretty small house if you only need 4 vents... Best to get a pro in and all the work will be done RIGHT.
