I have a basic stanley exterior steal door with one window. The door gets hit pretty hard by the sun and the caulking is melting out of the window frame. I have seen this many times on this type of door however there doesn't appear to be any information on how to fix this or clean the mess up. :wall:

I wonder if anyone here has any solutions. Also, is the fact the the caulking is leaking out a cause for concern? The door seem in great shape with the exception of the drips and some discoloration of the window trim. Which I would also like to replace if possible. Any info on that would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!!! :)

Also, if there is nothing I can do about this issue, let me know as well. Thanks!!!!

I'm stumped. I've never seen, nor even heard of latex cauking to melt.

I doubt it is latex. Not really sure what the material is. I will submit a photo once I have one.
