Good day to everyone!

First time poster ... first time finder of the forums too! (I think it may have something to do with getting a house for the first time, or something :o ) ...

So yes, first house, and it's in need of some TLC on the old vinyl windows (they've been slowly warping over the past 30 years -- house was built in 1975, and I think them there's the original wins).

I am by no means a handy sort of gal, so I don't know where to begin. Would it be easier to repair what I have, or go all out and replace the lot of them? We have 5 to fix. If any of you can offer suggestions, it would help this n00b a ton!!!

Thanks and have a great week!

~ CP

What do you mean by warping? Are they hard to open and close?

Are they vinyl coated wood windows, or solid vinyl?

I would say replace them for 2 reasons.

1.) 30 year old windows will be pretty tough to repair.
2.) New windows will be much more reliable and energy efficient.

I pretty much agree.

Solid Vinyl. Is there any way to save the glass currently there?

By warping I mean the edges are getting curves, and they don't close properly. Sorry I didn't mention that earlier.

Thanks for the tips--add more if you can, please.

Thankie!

Uh, ummm, replace the windows. Vinyl windows are generally not repairable.

Ah thanks for being so patient with me, Lugnut & neutrino---that was a big help! :D

I'm off to shop around for installers-of-windows! At least I'm sure what I have to do is being done.
