tried using vinagar, no luck. could be etching from dishwasher. How to remove cloudy film on drinking glasses?

Dishwasher detergent and hardwater minerals literally sandblast glassware, etching the surface and making it appear cloudy. This damage is permanent. Avoid putting your best glassware and china in the dishwasher.
