I am planning on building an enclosed porch on a concrete slab that is 6" thick and sits on 36" footers. My question is how to tie in the shed roof into the main house (2 stories). I'd like to tie the roof into the house just below the 2nd story windows to provide a nice roof pitch. The porch measures 15deep x20 wide . So is it okay to tie the upper end of the roof to the second story studs or is there some better solution?
Thanks, Joe

joeperi,
Go ask the guys at your local bldg. dept. It can be done, but it has to be done RIGHT!! (Or at least in the way that they concider to be "right"!)

Joneq did his that way and it is still going after 12 years. You need to makesure you lag bolt in to the studs. Make sure you leave enough room under the windows to add flashing. I wound up having to get special skylights due to the low pitch=more expensive, and the flashing kits for the skylights are way more expensive than if you have at least 4/12 I think. Just added that in in case you are putting in skylights.
