Hi there. I am trying to find info on how to achieve the style of white brick that I can only describe as "mottled" -- it kind of looks like it was painted 100 years ago and has now mostly worn off. I see lots of houses with it arounf my area, but can't seem to find much info. I think this can be achieved with whitewash applied unevenly and wiped/washed off before it cures, as opposed to actual paint. Whiteash also sounds much better than paint from a maintenance perspective. Does anyone have any info on what this style is called, and how hard it is to achieve technique-wise? Do you use a sponge or a rag or something, or just a brush? Is there a technique to wiping it off, or is it pretty simple? The house is currently a boring shade of red clay brick. I don't want the full white look, more the antiquey cottage look.
Thanks for any info.
Will
