Can I use Old English Scratch Cover on wood floors?
My mother is going to have her wood floors refinished in about a year the floors are in good shape except in one room. The floor is pretty bad, I think it was cleaned it with soap and water, the foor is dull and faded.
I cleaned the floor with the Hoover Floor Mate and wood cleaner and the floor looks much better. I did a test patch with the Old English Scratch Cover and it looks great, I'd like to do the entire floor but didn't know if I should.
Since the floor is going to be refinshed can I apply this in the meantime?
Thanks,
Maria

I did some checking and you can use this on floors. But i would be curious to know what finish your floor has on it. Poly? Urethane? If its a urethan finished floor. Your best bet may be just to buy a dark cleaner/wax and wax as needed. It will fill in the shallow scratches. The deeper ones will require sanding, filling and refinishing of the whole floor.
The only thing i did find that may be negative about this is:
Messy, smelly, stains if it touches fabrics or porous surfaces.
But from what i saw you can use this on your floors. I havent before. So, i do not know what this would do for the traction of the floor. Since it is a oil, it may make the floors some what slick.

If you have a polyurethane finish, avoid the use of waxes and oils. These tend to cause adhesion problems when it comes time to refinish the floor.
