Hi,

I have a 8x10 metal storage building at my parents house. I want to get it over here but wanted to know what kind of floor to put it on. My dad suggested that we build the floor out of pressure treated 2x6's and build a deck underneath it. The only problem with that is my wife is afraid of spiders and if she has to go into the building, she may run into spiders and never go back to the building. I was thinking of plywood but wasn't sure what kind to use. Does anyone have any suggestions? Would love to build onto concrete but building is going on a hill and would have to build concrete high on one side.

Thanks,

Chris

Due to the hill, you need to basically build a deck to set the bldg. on.

Set 9 pier blocks -- 3 rows of three, starting with one at each corner of where the shed will sit -- in footings. Set the blocks in wet concrete. Then posts, girders, joists, and the floor. All the lumber should be pressure treated. If you opt for a plywood floor, use at least 3/4" ACX. Other options include using PT or cedar deck boards, a composite deck board, etc.
