I have a large lampshade which was damaged when my father transported it in the back of his truck in the rain. It's a cream colored fabric with velvet applique over a translucent plastic form, and it has brownish water stains halfway around it. It's too huge to immerse in a dye bath and I don't want to wet it in an effort to clean it since that might just spread the water stain and make it worse. Any ideas would be appreciated.

You could try brushing tea or dye onto shade to camouflage stains.
