I have stained some new baseboards for our house and then applied 1 coat of MinWax Fast Drying Polyurethane using a foam brush. I cannot get a smooth finish for anything. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

The quik dry paints and finishes are very difficult to brush, the are made for spraying. I would suggest a non quik drying(regular) polyurathane. Also get a quality brush like Purdy and don't use the foam.
Be sure to lightly sand (220 grit) and remove dust before each coat.

Oops, don't sand the stain coat before sealing, you may create bare spots from sanding the stain.
