once your old door is removed, what will the size of the rough opening be? And is there a steel lentil above your door's brickmould? Measure from the bottom of the door threshold to the steel lentil.

I don't think there is a steel lentil, when I hung furring above doors and windows for siding it seemed I was going through red brick. the jamb to the brick measures 83"
Thanks X

That's perfect. Your door should just fit. It would have been nice if it was 83 1/4", but you can always shave a hair off the top of the brickmould.

Prehung 36x80 entry door measurements are usually 37 1/2 x 81 3/4 (interior jamb) which means you'd like your rough opening to be about 38 1/4 x 82 1/4. The outside brickmould measurements are 40 x 83.

If you're replacing a 32" door, just subtract 4" from all those widths.

X,
Turns out the door didnt fit anyway. I ended up tearing the 2x4 wood frame out and fitting a 1x4 frame in its place. Was either that or start knocking back the concrete block (I did not want to go there) :wall: seems to work find . Thanks for your help,
Stretch
