Hi,

I'm preparing to build a 10X12 gambrel shed in my back yard. If looking at the front of the structure to be built, the foundation slopes right to left at an 8 inch angle(the high point being on the right). I've removed the sod so far which took me down about 2 or so inches lower. I've been told that you should level the foundation and then build the structure using 6X6 pressure-treated lumber wrapped in plastic for the base with gravel underneath. However, I've recently read a book showing that you should level the structure to the foundation using block or pier blocks(also with gravel underneath)- this makes sense to me because I wouldn't want water running down the slope of my yard headed for the flat foundation I just created under my shed. Like other threads I've read, I'm also concerned about animals living under the shed. My questions is- would it be better to use blocks since the shed will be on a slope? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
