I asked this in the Decorating section, but this seems like a more appropriate place.

I just had new counters installed in my kitchen, but kept the old stainless sink in order to save some money. Unfortunately, it looks very dull next to my shiny new counters. Is there a good cleaning product to make it look a little better? I know it will never be like new, but any improvement would be welcome.

If you head to your local home improvement store and check for stainless steel cleaner. There should also be polish available. The best thing to do is to dry after every use to avoid hard mineral build up. Avoid using acid based cleaners..as they will stain the stainless in a permanent way.

Avoid abrasives on stainless steel sinks. Baking soda and water paste is good for scouring. If you have a brushed steel sink, rub in direction of grain.
